Q

CONTENT

A

prior knowledge is important to decide if it is plausible or not.

Weisber et al 2008, the neuroscience illusion= provided a student with a mixture of good and bad explanations of psychological phenomena and were told to rate how satisfied they were with each explanation. Some of these explanations were accompanied by neuroscientific findings and despite good or bad the ones with neuroscience were rated as satisfied. This is due to the content being neuroscience which makes students believe it is a better explanation as it is seen as evidential and scientific as neuroscience is seen as more scientific.
