What is the difference between Directive support and Autonomy support? Which is better?
A
Directive support: Positive guidance and encouragement ex: my friend reminds me of what I need to be doing
Autonomy support: Support framed as empathic perspective taking ex: my friend understands how i see my goals
Autonomy support is much better and in some cases Directive support even backfired
