Injuries in the line of duty

Duties while on worker’s compensation leave.

Answer 1

Members who are off work on injury are required to contact the deputy fc every Tuesday morning and advise them of their status:

Current status
Estimated time of return to full duty
Their next scheduled appointment 
A number where they can be reached
Any other appropriate info.

Jury duty

Pay while on jury duty

Answer 2

Members serving on jury duty will do so with pay while absent from their duties.

Any payment received will be provided to the city auditor through payroll dept within 10 days of receipt of pay or the city compensation for the days while on jury duty will be deducted.

Pay for jury duty for off duty hours will be the employees.

Employees must pay the city their per diem in order to receive full pay. Checks should be made payable to the City of Berkeley

Your immediate supervisor ASAP of the date and time you are to report.

Reporting back to work

Answer 4

If you are not empaneled, you must return to work as soon as you are released by the court.

If the selection is not complete and you are required to report back the next day, you do not report back to work.

Once release is given from either duty or selection, if you are normally working you must return to work.
