Someone who has influence in helping others to achieve their goals
Different Types of leaders?
Emergent- from within
Prescribed- chosen from outside the group
3 Qualities of a leader
-charisma
-empathy
-interpersonal skills
What does fielder’s contingency model show?
The way in which a leader interacts in a situation
3 styles of leadership
Autocratic- all decisions are made by them and they dictate
Democratic- listen to all performers in the group, person oriented
Laissez faire- leader has little input
Different levels of the model?
Autocratic most favourable:
-clear task
- strong leader
- high ability
Democratic moderately favourable:
-some support
-some harmony
-some clarity
Autocratic least favourable:
-unclear task
-hostile group
-weak leader
