Define aerodrome
A defined area (including any buildings, installations and equipment) on land or water or a fixed, fixed off-shore or floating structure intended to be used wholly or in part for the arrival, departure and surface movement of aircraft.
Define apron
A defined area intended to accommodate aircraft for the purpose of landing or unloading passengers, mail or cargo. Fuelling, parking or maintenance.
Define manoeuvring area
The part of an aerodrome to be used for the take-off, landing and taxiing of aircraft, excluding aprons.
Define movement area
The part of an aerodrome to be used for the take-off, landing and taxiing of aircraft, consisting of the manoeuvring area and the apron.
Define runway
A defined rectangular area on a land aerodrome prepared for the take-off and landing of aircraft.
When can an a/c move on the aerodrome?
An aircraft shall not taxi on the apron or the manoeuvring area of an aerodrome without permission from the person in charge of the aerodrome or the relevant ATCU.
