What are the 3 types of flight plan?
- IFR
- VFR
- Both
What are the 3 categories of flight plan?
- Full individual flight plan
- Repetitive flight plan
- Abbreviated flight plan
When must a flight plan be submitted by?
Before departure and sent to an ATS reporting office or during flight to an appropriate ATS unit via R/T but this cannot be for a repetitive flight plan.
What are 4 reasons flights must submit a flight plan?
- Any flight needing an air traffic service
- Any IFR flight in advisory airspace
- Flights operating at night
- Flights crossing international boundaries
- Any flight using routes designed by authorities
How long before crossing international boundaries must you submit a flight plan?
1 hour
If submitting during flight how far in advance must you submit a flight plan before entering a control or advisory area?
10 minutes
What is a repetitive flight plan?
A flight plan for a flight that is regularly operated with identical basic features. They cannot be used for trans-Atlantic flights.
What are IFPS?
Central process for collecting, processing and distributing flight plans. Part of AFTM at Eurocontrol.
Who must receive a copy of a flight plan?
- Your destination aerodrome
- All en-route control centres
- IFPS
