Name the 2 sub groups of connective tissue.
- Connective tissue proper (loose or dense)
2. Skeletal Connective tissue
What makes up the axial skeleton?
Head, neck and spine (CNS)
What makes up the appendicular skeleton?

No
If cartilage has no blood cells, how does it grow and repair?
Perichondrium allows for growth and repair
What does chondro- mean?
Cartilage
Name the 2 types of bone arrangement.
Compact (cortical) bone

Fibres (collagen)
Cells (osteoblasts, osteoclasts, osteocytes)
What is hydroxyapatite made of?
Osteoids
What are osteoids made of?
Ground substance and fibres
What do osteoclasts do?
Resorb bone
What are osteoprogenitor cells?
A bone cell precursor which gives rise to osteoblasts
