L-3 Flashcards
What is the minimum temperature for criticality?
What are the basis for this temperture?
What must be done if you recieve the Tave/Tref deviation alarm?
541 deg F
- MTC in analyzed range (not to positive)
- instrumentation in analyzed range
- Pzr operable with bubble
- RV above minimum Nil Ductility temperature
log Tavg every 30 minutes
What must be done if you change power >15% in one hour?
Why
notifiy chemistry
they have requirement to sample for radioiodine spiking (checking for leaky fuel)
Why is it important to monitor Steam header pressure during ramps to 20% power?
- Stm header pressure at 0% power = 1005#
- atm dumps setpoint = 1020#
- you are only 15# away from poping 10% stm dumps
therefore
when ramping at low powers you must monitor stm header pressure and take action if you approach setpoint
if stm dumps pop, could c/d to 541 deg F
could also cause SG feed and level transients resulting in trip and SI
Why is it important to monitor excore instrumentation during power accension to 30%?
low leakage cores have problems with calibration of excore detectors
Why should all operations that affect RCS temperature (during OP L-3) be done slowly?
so doppler can counter MTC
