L-1 Flashcards
What temperature of RCS should one RCP always be running?
Why?
160 deg F
ensures uniform temperture distribution
In Modes 4 (350-200 deg) and 5 (<200 deg) what is the required position of 8701 and 8702?
why?
at least one breaker must be closed
allows valves to be closed quickly if a LOCA outside of containment occurs
also allows isolation if pressure rises quickly that could damage RHR system????
When starting the first RCP for heatup what limitations apply?
Why?
When - Tc < 273 deg F the an RCP must not be started unless:
- Lpzr < 50% OR
- T s/g < 50 deg above each Tc
the concern is having an cold overpressurization condition caused by a heatup with no surge volume (273 = cold, high Lpzr = no surge volume, T s/g a lot higher than RCS = when RCP starts S/G heats up RCS and causes RCS to expand)
Per OP L-1, Before withdrawing SD banks what should/ shall be accomplished?
all four RCP’s should be in service
Tavg shall be above 541 deg F
