what was the Domino theory?
A
- US believed if one country fell to communism (china in 1949) then all the others would too (Korea)

A
North belonged to USSR/ soviets and the south belonged to America - divided by 38th parallel

A
- UN sent troops - most were US troops led by McArthur
- America then invaded the north (Truman was criticised for sacking McArthur for this invasion)

- take over North Korea, then take China in order to eliminate threat of communism
