What defines a “complicated” cystitis
Anatomical abnormality (e.g. Stone, stricture, or obstruction)
Tx for complicated cystitis
Bactrim for 7 days or cipro
Outpatient Abx for pyelonephritis
Cipro
Inpatient Abx for pyelonephritis
Ampicillin or gentamicin
Suspect _______ in a or w/ pyelonephritis who doesn’t respond after 5-7 days of Tx.
Perinephric abscess
Tx for perinephric abscess
Quinolone + oxacillin or nafcillin
