What passes through the hypoglossal canal?
CN XII
What structures passes through foramen jugulare?
- Sigmoid sinus
- CN XI
*CN X - CN IX
- inferior petrosal sinus.
What structures pass through Pars vascularis of the jugular foramen?
- Sigmoid sinus
- CN XI and X
What structures pass through foramen jugulare pars nervosa?
CN IX and inferior petrosal sinus.
Cause -Vernet syndrome
Usually intracranial lesion
Signs - Vernet syndrome
CN IX, X and XI
* uniltar paralysis of palate, vocal cords, SCM, Trapezius
* Loss of taste 1/3 back of t
* anesthesia soft palate, larynx, pharynx
Where - Collet-Sicard syndrom
Lesions outside of skull If inside skull, it would have to be so large that it also produced brainstem long-tract findings.

What - COllet-Sicard
- CN IX, X, XI AND XII WITHOUT sympatethic involvement.
Where? Villaret syndrome
Posterior retropharyngeal syndrome - syndrome of the posterior retroparotid space.
How? Villaret syndrome
Collet Sicard + Horner syndrome
