A

In the aftermath of the French and Indian War Virginia was excited to have land out west to settle so they start send migrants and move them to the Ohio valley region. The Virgins moved into the territory and settled on lands that was owned by the Ottawa Indians. The Ottawa Indians leader is Pontiac.

Patrick Henry -

A

Opposed to any type of British taxation at all. He shows his anger towards the tax in a 3-hour speech called “The Virginia Resolve “and talks about how unfair the tax is only hitting the colonies and no one else it is. He pounds his fist down and yells “No Taxation without Representation.” (the idea comes from The Enlightenment)

A

To prevent future Indian conflicts. An imaginary line is drawn through the Appalachian Mountains and the colonies couldn’t pass westward pass the line and they would be held where they were until England sends ambassadors into Indian territories and negotiate with them to buy their lands but NONE of the colonies listen.

The 7000 troops are going to all be stationed in Boston and gage becomes military governor of Boston and a war begins between the British troops and the workers (Bostonian’s) because they are being replaced by British troops.

A

Powerful trading company in England, and they have financial network all over the world and the company was making up 80% of England’s economy. Trading is the lifeline of England.

What act came along to get the east India company out of bankruptcy?

A

The Tea Act. They would send ships out to the Atlantic Ocean and the ships would be met with the colonial ships would send ships out to the colonial merchant ships and they would sell the product to the merchants and the merchants go home and sell the product for a higher price but now under the tea act the MERCHANT CLASS IS OUT OF THE TRADE. Colonies get cheaper tea and East India company will still be making money.

1) Boston Harbor - king shuts down Boston harbor until tea is paid for, 2) king declares entire colony of Massachusetts government is shut down, 3) Quartering act - king says you can still build shelters but if you refuse, he will put soldiers in your homes and private businesses, 4) if you are arrested for violating with navigation acts then the king will serve as your judge and jury.
