What do you see if DMC 1, 2 or 3 fails?
In case of DMC 1 or 2: “Invalid data” on DU’s. Use CPT/FO 3
In case of DMC 3: Nothing but you get ECAM. If CPT/FO 3 was selected, DMC 2 will drive the ECAM
What happens if the upper ECAM screen fails?
The EWD automatically replaces the system/status page on the lower ECAM DU
What should you do if BOTH ECAM screens fail?
Use “ECAM/ND XFR” to display EWD on either ND
AND
Push and hold (max 3 min) the related system page Pb to temporarily display a system/status page on the ND
What happens if the CAPT’s LEFT EFIS screen fails? How can the ND be displayed?
- The PFD will auto transfer to the ND screen
- Manually switch the PFD “OFF”
or
- Press the PFD/ND XFR button (cross changes PFDU/NDU)
What happens if an ADVISORY is triggered?
The monitoring system senses an unusual parameter value.
This auto pops up the relevant system page on S/D
Effected parameter pulses green
If the SD fails, ADV will show on lower part of E/WD and flashes in white
What indications follow a LEVEL 1 CAUTION?
AMBER caution, no aural
Caution message on E/WD
GENERALLY without procedure
What indications follow a LEVEL 2 CAUTION?
AMBER caution, single chime
MSTR CAUTION light amber steady
Caution message on E/WD
AUTOMATIC pop up of relevant SD
What indications follow a LEVEL 3 WARNING?
CONTINIOUS repetitive chime (CRC) or SPECIFIC SOUND/VOICE or MSTR WARNING light red flashing or specific red light WARNING Message on E/WD AUTOMATIC pop up of relevant SD
What is meant by INDEPENDENT, PRIMARY or SECONDARY failures?
I: a failure that affects an isolated system or item of equipment without degrading the performance of others in the A/C
P: a failure of a system or item that influences use or operations of other systems
S: the loss of a system or item resulting from a primary failure
In case of a green overflow arrow on the E/WD or STS SD, how do you get to the next info?
Use the CLR button to acces the next section.
What is the meaning of TO/LND INHIBIT message?
Primary and secondary failures are inhibited during:
TO: phase 3/4/5 from TO power - 1500’ AGL
LND: phase 7/8 from 800’ - 80kts
This excludes the uninhibited warnings and cautions
When does the LDG MEMO appear on the E/WD?

2 min after 2nd engine start

At least 1 engine has been running when TO CONFIG Pb is pressed
It disappears on TO PWR application

All the alerts still active but inhibited in whole active flight phase
What is the effect of pressing the TO CONFIG Pb?
Simulates the application of TO power and thus tests if the A/C configuration is ready for take off
In single ECAM screen operations, how can you display an SD page?
Toggle the SD pages by pressing the STS Pb for max 2 sec
To maintain the required SD page, keep pressing the STS button (max the system allows is 3 min)
When should you use the EMER CANC button?
To suppress spurious MSTR CAUTION
