How is Gravity Extension achieved?
What happens to the gear doors?
Mechanically by turning the hand crank on the center pedestal 3 x full turns
The gear doors remain open! (massive drag)
What is indicated by the red UNLK light on the gear panel and what is the information source?
The gear is not locked in the selected position.

How many green triangles on the GEAR SD page confirm that the gear is down and locked?
You need to see only 1 of the two triangles per gear (3 out of 6)
When during the TAKE OFF does the NW steering become inhibited?
130 kts
How much NW steering is available through:
- Rudder Pedals?
- Steering Handwheel?
6 - 0 degrees
75 - 0 degrees
Both dependent of the speed
What happens if both pilots make an input on the tiller/steering handwheel?
Algebraically summed up
What happens when the button on one of the steering handwheels is pressed?
This removes the news controle from the onside rudder pedals
When is NW STRG DISC amber?
When is NW STRG DISC green?
GREEN: when the nose wheel steering selector is in the towing position.
AMBER: when the nose wheel steering selector is in the towing position and one engine is running as well
When does AUTO BRAKE automatically disarm?
- When 1 or more arming conditions are lost
- When you press one of either brake pedals
- 10 sec after Take -Off or a Touch and Go
What triggers AUTO BRAKE system operation?
LO/MED: command of ground spoilers
MAX: command of ground spoilers + a/c speed > 40 kts
(spoilers only deploy when a/c speed is > 72 kts)
How long can the yellow accumulator hold the Park Brake ON?
12 hours
With the parking brake set, is pedal braking operative?
yes, via the green system
When does the DECEL light illuminate?
When the actual deceleration is 80% or greater of the selected rate (LO/MED)
What delays occur for respectively LO/MED/MAX?
LO: 4 sec after ground spoilers deployment
MED: 2 sec after ground spoiler deployment
MAX: none, straight with ground spoiler deployment
In which case(s) do you use MAX?
Take Off only (can’t be armed in flight)
When the ECAM says: L/G —-GRVTY EXTN, what should you do?
Refer to QRH
What is indicated by amber, vertical lines showing each side of a wheel number on the SD page?
Anti - skid brake release fault
What is indicated by a green or amber arc on the wheel SD page?
Green: temperature of the brakes are > 100 degrees C
Amber: temperature of the brakes are > 300 degrees C
(only 1 on the hottest)
With HOT indicated on the brake fan button, what should be delayed?
Take Off
