With all tanks full and all pumps ON, which tank(s) is (are) feeding the engines initially?
Center tank (pumps) on the old system Wing tank pumps on the new system
What causes, before TO, the center tank pumps to automatically shut down?
And when do the CTR Pumps Resume operations?
2 min after the start of the 2nd engine and
slat extension or inner cell full
At slat retraction and 500 kg used on the associated side of the inner tank
How many transfer valves are there and when do they open?
4 transfer valves (2 on each side)
They open when the content of the associated inner tank goes below 750kg
When do the transfer valves close again?
At the following refueling operation
How are the IDG’s cooled?
with high pressure fuel via the IDG heat exchanger (the fuel absorbs the heat)
How is space made in the wing tanks to receive fuel from the IDG cooling system when the CTR tank is NOT empty?
When the wing tanks is full the CTR TANK pumps automatically switch off. The engine feeding starts from the wing tanks until +/- 500 kg is used. Than the logic restarts the center tank pumps (this concerns the older version of the fuel system)
What causes a FAULT light to illuminate in the MODE SEL sitch?
If there is still fuel in the center tank but fuel also gets used from the wing tanks
What happens when you press the refueling TEST switch?
This tests the high level sensors and associated circuits to be serviceable
What does it mean if a fuel quantity is boxed amber?
Part of or all of the fuel is unusable
An amber line through a fuel quantity indicates what?
Fuel Quantity Indication system is unreliable/inaccurate
When does the “fuel used” indication reset to zero?
When selecting the engine master switch to ON on the ground for start
What causes a fuel tank temperature indication to go amber?
if the fuel temp goes above or below the temperature limits (FCOM-LIM)
What does it mean if the fuel quantity on the E/WD and SD are half-boxed?
Some fuel is unusable
REFUELG on the E/WD means?
That the fuel panel is open
What does CTR TK FEEDG mean on the E/WD?
At least one CTR TANK pump is energized
