divide to become osteogenic, divide to become osteoblasts

A
produce bone matrix around collagen fibers, form thin struts of bone (Ossification centre)

What do the osteoblasts on the surface of the struts do
A
they thicken the struts to form trabecular

What happens when the cells specialize.
A
Trapped Bv = marrow
Cells surrounding bone = periosteum
Osteoblasts in periosteum = form compact bone
osteoblasts trapped in bone = osteocytes
