Everything about pathways! Flashcards
Sensory pathways (3)
Spinocerebellar, Posterior column, and spinothalamic
Spinocerebellar
you aren’t aware, its to fine tune movement. (ends in cerebellum)
Posterior column
Fine touch and pressure. crosses in medulla, synapse in thalamus and then in somatosensory cortex
Spinothalamic pathway
pain, itch, temp. Cross over in spinal cord, synapse in thalamus, end in somatosensory.
Where do sensory neurons from the skin and muscles of the back come from
Dorsal ramus
where do sensory neurons from ventrolateral body surface and walls and limbs come from
Ventral ramus
Where do sensory neurons from visceral organs come from
The sympathetic nerve
Where do all sensory neurons synapse
in the posterior grey horn
where do all somatic (going to muscles) motor neurons synapse in the spinal cord
The anterior grey horn
where do all visceral motor neurons synapse in spinal cord
The lateral grey horn
Which somatic motor neurons exit via the dorsal ramus
only going to muscles of the back
which somatic motor neurons exit via the ventral ramus
ventral and lateral body wall and limbs
Which visceral motor neurons exit via the sympathetic nerve
if they’re going to digestive or urinary or reproductive organs or adrenal medulla
Which visceral motor neurons exit via the dorsal ramus
Effectors of the posterior thoracolumbar region
Which visceral motor nervous use the ventral ramus
effectors in front of body or limbs, smooth muscle, glands of skin, adipose of ventrolateral body and limbs.
