How did Louis Loucheur deal with France’s devastation after the Great War?
He visited areas of the war. He became the minister of the liberated regions. these were regions that liberated from German occupation at the end of WWI. By 1926 the restoration was done, greatest achievement of post war France

france had borrowed loans from other countries instead of placing heavy taxes on the people. before the war their franc was 20 cent. a common phrase was “Germany will pay”; however Germany faltered in their payments

- began with a stock market crash in New York in October 1929
- quickly spread to other parts of the world and became a global affair
- France thought they could survive the great depression due to their balance of industry and agriculture

stifling stagnation in France, where they could not get out of the economic phase. they also had to deal with fascism leader called Adolf hitler with the dream of the German empire

left wing parties that came together to gain control of the French government and implicate their policies

What does Leon Blum preach?
He preached a French “New Deal”. it was a program reform to restore jobs, reinvigorate the economy and social status, enacted 40 hours of work act, allowed 2 week paid vacation, nationalized araliaments industry. appointed three women as under secretaries, which was the first time to occur in French history; however it failed to solve france’s failing economy
