- Infective endocarditis,
- Anthrax
- Wound botulism,
- Abscesses,
- Chronic venous ulcerations and cellulitis,
- Necrotising fasciitis (may present with exquisite tenderness with little overt skin changes),
- Streptococcal infections,
- Clostridium novyii,
- Actinomyces,
- Mycobacterium,
- BBV

Describe features of Anthrax
A
Commonly have oedema and GI, resp and CNS symptoms. It can result in sudden catastrophic shock

Describe features of botulism
A
It is an infection by clostridium botulism which causes decending paralysis. Presents with ptosis, slurred speech which may make them appear intoxicated. Rapid diagnosis is vital

What can we do to try prevent infections in PWID?
A
- Increase health promotion,
- Increase education
- Increase BBV testing,
- Make sure harm reduction,
- Advocate for addiction services
