What is the histological appearence of coeliacs disease?
A
Villous atrophy and crypt hyperplasia.
There is intraepithelial lymphocytes, increased chronic infiltrate in laminae propria and loss of villous architecture.

What two antibodies are released in coeliacs disease?
A
Anti-TTG and anti-EMA however needs a colonoscopy and biopsy

What are the symptoms of coeliacs disease?
A
Diarrhoea, weight loss, moth ulcers, anaemia secondary to iron, B12 or folate deficiency, dermatitis herpetiformis.

A
Vitamin deficiency, anaemia, osteoporosis, cancer
