IFR equip req
A/c have to be fitted with suitable instruments and nav equip suitable to the route flown
Have to have an instrument rating
Min levels - IFR
Can’t be below MSA
Mountainous - level at least 600m above the highest obstacle within 8km
Non mountainous - level at least 300m above highest obstacle within 8km
Changing from IFR to VFR
Use phrase cancelling my IFR flight
ATC should respond - IFR flight cancelled and a specific time of cancellation
IFR flights outside CAS
Fl appropriate to mag track
Must file a flight plan and keep comms with ATC monitoring the radio
Normal separation in RVSM

Restricted, prohibited and danger areas

May be permanent or activated by notams
The designated no can’t be used for 12months after the closure of an area

By day and night - series of projectiles are used from the ground - bursting red and green at intervals of 10secs
