NSAID- Produces analgesic/anti-inflammatory/antipyretic
effect by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins
SIDE EFFECTS • Nausea • Dizziness • Dyspepsia (i.e. indigestion) • Gastrointestinal bleeding

Indications, contrainidcations & precautions
A
Moderate pain caused
by tissue injury and acute
inflammation
• Patients <12 & >65 years KSAR • Current gastrointestinal bleeding or peptic ulcers • Dehydration and/or hypovolaemia • Renal impairment • Pregnancy • Heart failure • Anticoagulant medication
Asthma
• Hepatic dysfunction
• History of gastrointestinal
bleeding or peptic ulcers

Dosages
A
EMT 1 EMT 2 PO 200-400mg tablet. Must not be administered within 6 hours of previous ibuprofen dose. Can be given with water.
