triad or normal pressure hydrocephalus
urinary uncontinance, gait abnormality, dementia
wet, wacky, wobbly
CSF and ventricles hydro
CSF pressure normal
ventricles chronically dilated
cause of it hydro
can be secondary to head injury, SAH, meningitis
treatment of hydro
ventriculoperitoneal shunt (CSF-> abdomen to get absorbed)
SIRS
non specific clinical response and 2 or more of:
temo >38 or <36
HR >90
RR>20
WCC >12000 or <4000 or >10% immature neutrophils
sepsis
SIRS with presumed or confirmed infectious process
severe sepsis
sepsis with signs or at least one acute organ dysfunction:
renal, resp, hepatic, haem (DIC), CNS, unexplained metabolic acidosis, cardiovascular (hypotension)
septic shock
BP stays low even after IV fluids
Sepsis 6
give fluids, high flow o2, IV ABs
take UO, blood cultures, lactate and FBC
target o2 for normal px
copd
