basal cell carcinoma of the skin only invades locally - it never spreads to other parts of the body!

how is the treatment for breast cancer planned?
- Confirm diagnosis of breast cancer ( usually done in outpatient)
- Check if it has spread to the Axilla
IF YES- axillary node clearance is needed. - ( if not then …)Check if it has spread to the rest of the body.
IF YES- systemic (chemo) therapy needed. - ( if not then ..) Surgery with or without axillary lymph node clearance.

micro metastases could still be present

what treatment is given after a lumpectomy?
radiotherapy to the breast
what does radiotherapy after a lumpectomy do?
