Hitler believed the aryan race was superior to Slavs in Eastern Europe
So he wanted more land to accommodated this ‘race’ as he believed them to be superior

Hitler hated the existence of the Soviet Union and its policies
So he wanted to take it over

Austrian Nazi party were campaigning for it but outlawed by Austrian chancellor (Dolfuss)
They overtook radio stations and assassinated Dolfuss

Hitler didn’t support it as he was concerned Mussolini wouldn’t support it
So ultimately failed

No because allegations of intimidation and causing blockades
As well as intimidation of jewish people

How did the allies react to Germany building up their army?
They condemned it but did nothing
But then Britain just formed a treaty with Germany despite this
How did Hitler justify rebuilding the army?
Because other countries were so this was self defence as they felt vulnerable
Provided more jobs and made Germans feel strong again

Britain signed treaty with Germany to increase navy to 35% of Britains

Britain directly allowed this to happen

Italy invaded Abyssinia against the League of Nations
But France and Britain were caught secretly making agreements to give Abyssinia to italy

Destroyed cooperation between the allies and axis
Britain and France preoccupied to ignore any of germanys moves
Britain and France ignored the league = now powerless to stop Germany
