How did Canadians feel about alcohol
A
- start of 20s; Canadians field alcohol was causing negativity
- seen as taking away from the war effort. Ex. Grain was used for ancho in stead of food for soldiers
- groups; temperance movement worked to ban alcohol
- by the end of World War One all Canadian province except Quebec prohibited the sale of alcohol; bars and tavern shut down

- different from province to province; in general closed legal drinking establishments, forbade the sale, possession and consumption of alcohol outside ones home
- purchase through industrial, scientific, mechanical, artistic, sacramental and medical uses

A
- prohibition did reduce some social problems, it was unpopular and difficult to enforce
- criminals getting rich while government lost a lot of tax revenue
- eventually prohibition was repealed
