What are the Dionne quintuplets

A
  • miracle babies at the time
  • 5 sisters were born to a poor family in north bay
  • born 2 month premature and weighed less then 14 lb combined
  • quints eventually taken from family and placed under goverment guardianship and house in hospital called quint land
  • attracted 3 million ppl to north bay during depression and gave rise to industry giving people jobs
  • goverment made half a billion dollars off of them
  • became biggest tourist attraction
  • quints lives were tragic and described as a ‘circus’ by the sisters
