Why did the Yorkshire rebellion kick off?
Henry VII raised the taxes in Yorkshire in order to help defend Brittany from France. As the people of Yorkshire were already paying to defend England from Scotland (and Brittany was far away) they didn’t want to pay any more
Who led the Yorkshire rebellion and when did it come to a head?
John a Chambre. The Earl of Northumberland was sent to Thirsk to collect taxes from this man and the rebels, but they refused, a fight broke out and Northumberland was killed.

He executed John a Chambre for treason (Northumberland had represented the King). He never tried to raise tax in Yorkshire again

Henry tried to raise their taxes in order to defend England against Scotland because Perkin Warbeck was there.

March to London fairly peacefully and express grievances. Perkin Warbeck tried to join in, but he was rejected and left in Somerset.

They reached Blackheath (just outside of London). Lord Daubeney had to put them down with 8000 King’s men
