Who are the duty holders in CDM?
X3 main DH:
CLIENT - appoint roles/notify HSE/pre-cons info
PRINCIPLE DESIGNER - PRE construction. Eliminate foreseeable risks.
PRINCIPLE CONTRACTOR - DURING construction. Construction phase plan, H&S file, welfare facilities.
Other- designer (considers risks through design) and contractor (manages workers)

What does RIDDOR require?
Record an injury if off work for >3 days.
Report to HSE within 15 days of off work for >7 days.
Injury log to be kept for 3 years.
What is public liability insurance?
(Contractors all risks insurance)
Cover for a member of the public claiming as a result of damage to them on your property or to their property as a result of your business activities.
What is employers liability insurance?
Employee claim as a result of negligence.
What is the Occupiers Liability Act 1957?
OLA 1957 shows a duty of care to all lawful visitors.

What is asbestos? Why is it dangerous?
Asbestos is an insulating material. Eg. On pipe lagging or roof insulation.
Blue - brown (banned 1985)
white (banned 1999)
It becomes toxic when disturbed.
What are the key principles in the CONTROL OF ASBESTOS REGS 2012?
Obligations of the duty holder or employer. Non compliance is a CRIMINAL OFFENCE.
