note; All members are trained and expected to be able to perform certain specific mitigation efforts as part of their duties, control of natural gas leaks from service systems and appliances, fuel leaks at oil burner incidents or gasoline /diesel fuel leaks at transportation incidents

unit shall be staffed with a MINIMUM of ONE TRAINED OFFICER or acting trained officer and at least 3 TRAINED FF’S ….(if possible, 4 trained ff’s will be provided)

DECON shower operations:

• decon of FF/civilian that are AMBULATORY and not displaying life threatening symptoms of exposure
• Technical Decon
• enough towels and disposable garments to provide for the DECON of 100 patients
• each tour /Primary and Back up companies are staffed with minimum of 2 FF’s trained to Decon Engine Level (24 hours HAZ mat decon training)
• tractor trailer DSA require Tractor Trailer Chauffeur
• DSA positioned at the END OF CONTAMINATION REDUCTION CORRIDOR
• most situations, DSA will be backed into position since patients enter the ‘DIRTY ROOM’ from REAR DOORS…properly positioned the rear apparatus will be in ‘warm zone’ and patients leave through ‘clean room’ in ‘COLD ZONE’
• RECOMMEND DSA positioned in middle of street or intersection –assist in leveling unit and providing adequate space on both sides

• configured for patient privacy and do not require FF’s in disrobing, showering and redressing under normal circumstances
• showering of both genders-DSA are divided down middles to provide privacy for men/women
• gray water containment pools located in warm zone and considered additional exclusion zone (gray water- refers to waste water collected after patients have showered)
• FF shall staff the clean side of the trailer (front portion after shower stalls ) in work duty uniforms …responsible for providing towels for drying and disposable garments for privacy for all patients
