A

Penan tribe: group of hunters and gatherers who live in the tropical rainforests of Borneo. Wood is a resource for them as they use it to build houses & as firewood. Q

An example of how technology had changed what resources are?

A

In the past: Farming relied mainly on water buffaloes & simple tools
Now: Farming can be done with machinery
Therefore, water buffaloes are less likely to be seen as a valuable resource

7
Q

how can the availability of a renewable resource increase again over some time?

A

natural processes continually occur to replenish the resource

8
Q
A
9
Q

what are non-renewable resources?

A

materials which may or may not be replenished naturally

9
Q

how long does it take if the non-renewable resources are replenished?

A

the natural processes occur very slowly & takes such a long time that it is beyond the period usd

10
Q

what is an example of non-renewable resource?

A

crude oil. it takes millions of years to form, therefore, the rate of replenishment is too slow to increase its availablity in the near future. As people extract crude oil from the Earth, its availablity is reduced.

A
11
Q

what is the availability of natural non-renewable resources?
