Vocabulary

A
  • Dominant Traits: most common, will always beat out a recessive trait. Given a capital letter
  • Recessive Traits: least common, will always lose to a dominant trait. Given a lower case letter
  • Codominace: two traits are equally dominant meaning both traits show up in the offspring
  • sex-linked: a trait associated with a gene that is carried only by the male or female parent
  • polygenic: a trait that is controlled by a group of nonalleic genes (called poly gene) supplement
  • multiple alleles: a single trait has several different forms.
