What do both plant and animal cells have?
A
- Mitochondria
- Ribosomes
- Rough and Smooth ER
- golgi apparatus

Q
What are the structures and what do they do?
A
- Cell Wall: layer outside plasma membrane
- Cell Membrane: regulates what enters and leaves cells; supports cell
- cytoplasm: material in a cell
- plasmid: structure that can replicate independently in a cell
- ribosomes: create protein
- flagella: threadlike structure that enables many Protozoa, bacteria and etc.
- nucleus: brain/dna
- nuclear envelope: surrounds the nucleus
- chromatin: material which other material are composed
- nucleous: spherical structure in the nucleus during interphase
- endoplasmic recticulum: network of membranes
- microtubules: structure present in numbers in cytoplasm of cell
- microfilaments: rodlike structure present in numbers in the cytoplasm of cell
- vacuoles: small space within cytoplasm of cell
- mitochondria: PH of the cell
- golgi apparatus: protein packaging
- chloroplasts: contains chlorophyll in which photosynthesis takes place
- lysosomes: eliminates waste
- cilia: causes currents in surrounding fluid of cell
5
Q
Prokaryotic vs. Eukaryotic
A
Prokaryotic:
- no nucleus
- no MB oraganelles
- includes bacteria
Eukaryotic:
- nucleus
- MB organelles
- included protists, fungi, plants and animals
6
Q
What is Passive Transport?
A
- NO ENERGY REQUIRED
- Osmosis: diffusion of high to low concentration
- Diffusion: moves substance from high to low concentration
7
Q
What is Active Transport?
A
- ENERGY REQUIRED
- Moves substance against the concentration from low to high concentration
