Q

DNA replication process:

A
  1. Helicase (an enzyme) splits the double helix to unzip the strands of DNA and form the replication fork
  2. RNA primer gets the strand ready for the nucleotides
  3. DNA polymerase reads the template and adds nucleotides to the new DNA strand
  4. DNA/ ligase (an enzyme) fills in any gap between the Okazaki fragments

Q

What is Transcription?

A

RNA polymerase binds to DNA and separates the DNA strands. RNA polymerase then uses one strand for DNA as a template from which nucleotides are assembled into a strand of RNA
