Define Aetiology
The cause, set of causes, or manner of causation of a disease or condition
Define pathophysiology
The disordered physiological processes associated with disease or injury

What does psychological (mental) distress refer to?
A persons experience of symptoms (such as anxiety, psychological fatigue or depression) which can impact on the enjoyment of life and on personal and social wellbeing
Define mental illness
A condition of imparment resulting in a significant changes in mental, emotional, psychological or social functioning
Define mental disorder
A diagnostable illness that significantly interferes with an individuals cognitive, emotional or social abilities; a condition where the person cannot cope and function as they previously, leading to personal and social, financial distress.
