- Women should not speak in church, teach and should submit to their husbands.
- Only men can be Church leaders and they do not see this as discrimination as it was what God ordained.
- St Paul taught that men have more rights because Eve was led astray by Satan who led Adam astray

- Men and women are equal
- Women can be an extraordinary (a non ordained person who assists priests).
- Only men can be ordained as priests, although it claims this does not affect the equal status of women because priests were supposed to represent Jesus.
- Catechism teaches that only men can be priests because apostles are men and priests and bishops are successors of the apostles.

A
- Men and women should be equal in family and life because:
- God created male and female equal.
- No male and female in eyes of God.
- Jesus treated women as equals.
- Some evidence that there were women priests in the early church.

Christian opposition to gender prejudice:
A
The Movement for the Ordination of Women believe that the Church’s refusal to ordain women as discrimination. The movement faced push back but by 1987 the first woman was ordained.

1. On average 2 women a week are killed by a violent partner.
2. Two-thirds of adults believe workplace sexism is still a problem.
