What is the history of Abrahamic Covenant?
A
- God promised Abraham what he would be the father of a “great nation” and his grandson Jacob was renamed Israel.
- Jacob had 12 sons, the children of Israel. They made up the 12 tribes of Israel

If Abraham circumcised himself and all the male members of this household and he would give him sons.

A
- Bodily sign of Israel’s commitment to God throughout generations should be on the part of the male body that creates future generations.
- Men should not be satisfied with imperfect condition

A
- A special brit milah when a mohel circumcises the boy and promises to bring the boy up in the Jewish faith.
- Some Liberal Jews chose not to circumcise boys and have brit shalom
- Brit Chayim for liberal girl babies to bring them in the faith
