A group of rare conditions resulting from hormonal errors during fetal development in which internal genitalia differ from external genitalia. Also called intersex disorders.
disorders of sexual development

The degree to which an individual’s dress, behavior, and identity do not conform with expected or conventional norms for masculinity and/or femininity.

Persistent or recurring impairment in achieving sexual arousal or orgasm or pain associated with intercourse.
sexual dysfunction
The ability to experience sexual pleasure and satisfaction when desired and how the body reacts in different stages of the sexual response cycle.
sexual functioning
Physical, mental, and social well-being in relation to sexuality.
sexual health
Description that refers to the object of the individual’s sexual attraction.
sexual orientation
The cycle of human sexual response, which occurs in a predictable cycle with five distinct phases: desire, excitement, plateau, orgasm, and resolution.
sexual response cycle
An individual whose gender identity is different from cultural norms and expectations of the sex assigned at birth.
transgender
