Why are oceans SALTY? Why are rivers NOT SALTY?

A
  • Oceans and sees red by river and rain water.
  • River water picks up small deposits of minerals, eventually wash out to the oceans and make it salty
  • Individual rivers do not have enough minerals to be salty, but in Oceans many river connect and the minerals pile up.
