Absorbs water, vitamins, and minerals, and turns the undigested food into feces and move it to the rectum.

Dispose of waste products out of the body.

Stores feces from the large intestine until it is expelled from the body.

Stores the bile

Prevents food from entering your windpipe.
What is the function of the salivary glands?
Produces saliva containing enzymes to start the chemical digestion in your mouth.
What is the function of the Pancreas?
Sends digestive enzymes into the small intestine and produces insulin to regulate blood sugar.
What is the function of the Esophagus?
Moves the food down to the stomach through a muscle movement called peristalsis.
