interaction: statins + fusidate
Fusidate has been reported to cause rhabdomyolysis when given with statins. Manufacturer advises avoid. Restart statin 7 days after last dose.

LFT is high doses or prolonged therapy
also in pt with biliary tract obstruction, taking hepatotoxic meds, concurrent meds with similar excretion pathway
is sodium fusidate the same thing as fusidic acid

what is rifaximin
rifamycin that is poorly absorbed from the gastro-intestinal tract, and, therefore, should not be used to treat systemic infections.
indications for rifaximin - 2
Travellers’ diarrhoea that is not associated with fever, bloody diarrhoea, blood or leucocytes in the stool, or 8 or more unformed stools in the previous 24 hours
Reduction in recurrence of hepatic encephalopathy
