What are the Evaluation Points for Dobash and Dobash?
- A significant number of DV cases are against men and are committed by women - This does not relate to the patriarchy and shows that life is not always the ‘warm bath theory’ that Parsons’ suggests it is!
- Whilst around 70% of DV cases are committed by men against women, there is DV cases against men by women and also in same-sex relationships –> Fear of reporting / stigma of not being believed!
- Their study was completed in 1980 = Are their stats up to date? –> Do they police and authorities ‘care’ more now?
