Q

Adv of independent group exp

A

. No order effects as it is only tested once meaning no practice would be done and there won’t be any fatigue
. Will not guess aim as it has only been tested once so they will name natural behaviour

Q

Disadv for independent group exp

A

• Participant variables as there are different participants in each group
. More participants are needed ( twice as man) as repeated measures

Q

Adv of repeated measure exp

Q

Disadv of repeated measures

A

. There are order effects- similar tasks are done twice which can cause fatigue, ev/ cv
. Easier to guess aims to both conditions and change behaviour

Q

Adv of match pairs

A

. No participant variable as thy are reduced through matching
. No order effects as they are rested once meaning there is no practice fatigue
. More people so more representative as a whole

Q

Disadv of matched pairs

A

. Imperfect matching - takes time, not all relevant variables
. More participants needed
.although more participants, when put into pairs it is less representative of that variable
