define beneficence
the obligation that our actions and research have benefit to others
what are the 4 bioethics principals
beneficence, non maleficence, autonomy, justice

the obligation to not harm others without a greatly justifying reason
clinical equipoise define it
the recuirement that researchers only provide an
experimental treatment if the evidence for the experimental treatment is equal to that available for the standard treatment. and there is genuine uncertainty about its benefits
define a vulnerable person
a person who is at more of a risk of exploitation because of social or physical disadvantages
define conflict of interest
a situation where a person holds two or more potentially incompatible interests
define and describe informed consent
Adequately informed consent requires:
* Disclosure of the purpose, risks, and processes of the study
* Reasonable efforts from the researcher to explain this information
* That the person is competent to give consent
* The absence of any coercive factors
whats justice
it requires full transparency and requires all people are considered equal and all social groups reap benefits of study
whats the NEAC
the national ethics advisory commitee. looks over studies and decides if they are ethical to take place
define diversity
the requirement that the researchers recognise the divestiy of the population they are studying
respect
respect for persons autonomy and right to self governance
