What is the MOA oF sildenafil (Viagra)
A
Phophidiasterase 5 inhibitors: nitric oxide released from nerve endings and endothelial cells binds to receptors on the smooth muscle of the corpus cavernosum and causes relaxation of the smooth muscle, allowing engorgement (erection). This process is reversed by phosphodiasterase 5. These drugs inhibit phosphodiasterase. They potentiate the hypotensive action of nitrates.
