What are discrimination laws?
They stop employees from being discriminated against through recruitment processes, Pay gaps/regimes, and promotions and redundancies
What is direct discrimination?
Treating someone less favourably because they have a protected characteristic E.g not employing someone due to a disability
What is indirect discrimination?
Everyone is treated the same but it has a worse effect on one group of people rather than on others. For example, a rule that employers must not wear head coverings could be indirect discrimination against some religions
Why do employers have to pay staff a minimum amount, and what is it called?
The National minimum wage and The National living wage help employees from being paid unfairly low wages
