What is the epidemiology for Meniere disease?
A
age 20-40 (RARE)

What is the etiology for Meniere disease?
A
fluid build up and ion homeostasis in the inner ear which distorts the endolymph, possibly blocked ducts or autoimmune, viral, genetic

How do you diagnose Meniere disease?
A
HX and exam, R/O thyroid, autoimmune—RPR, syphilis 2 spontaneous episodes of vertigo that last longer than 20 minutes, audiometric measure of sensory neural hearing loss, tinnitus
