- First 5cm from gastroduodenal junction on the transpyloric line
- Attatched to hepatoduodenal ligament
- Retroperitoneal

2nd Part:
- 7-10cm long
- Curves around the head of pancreas
- Retroperitoneal

3rd part:
- 6-8cm
- Horizontal part
- Retroperitoneal

4th part:
- 2.5-5cm to duodenojejunal junction
- Begins left of L3
- Suspensory ligament of duodenum: Ligament of Treitz
