DQ-138 Flashcards
ATC instructs aircraft to turn right heading 350 and join the RRS 330 radial and track it outbound. The aircraft is currently on the RRS 280 radial. Explain the use of CIS (HDG & NAV etc.) to comply.
With HDG on, turn the heading bug to 350. Tune the course on the HSI to 350.
Once on course engage NAV mode, tune the HSI to 330, the CIS will remain in HDG until within the capture zone.
What CIS information is displayed on the VSI while outside the capture zone with ILS selected on the HSI/VSI mode select panel and NAV selected on the CIS mode select panel.
Roll command bar and Pitch command bar
The ILS approach mode is engaged when? While in the ILS approach mode cyclic roll commands are limited to what bank angle, and what airspeed range are cyclic and collective steering performance applicable for?
Engaged within 2.5 degrees of the selected course.
Bank angle is limited to 15 degrees
Airspeed between 50 KIAS to 130 KIAS
How is the Go-Around mode engaged or disengaged and what information will it provide?
Go-Around is engaged when either pilot presses the GA (Go-around) switch on the cyclic.
Information provided:
- Collective position resulting in a 500 +/- 50 fpm rate of climp.
- Cyclic pitch bar commands for an 80 KIAS climbout.
Loss of airspeed data (Pitot tube cover on, air data transducer failure etc.) effects the operation of which aircraft systems?
Stabilator, FPS and CIS
What emergency single-engine airspeed should be selected if the aircraft does not have single-engine capability?
MAX endurance IAS (Single Engine) and adjust collective to Maximum Torque Available
ATM p. 4-20 (para. t)
In estimating the Expected Severity of an Occurrence, what would constitute catastrophic?
- Loss of ability to accomplish the mission or mission failure.
- Death or permanent fatal disability (accident risk) of personnel
- Loss of major or mission critical system or equipment.
- Major property (facility) damage
- Severe environmental damage
- Unacceptable collateral damage
